About the Role
The Director of Solutions Engineering is a key leadership position at Docker, responsible for building and leading a world-class team of Solutions Engineers across EMEA. As a remote-first team, Docker is looking for a seasoned leader who can drive technical sales and customer success, while also prioritizing AI Governance. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in managing and leading high-performing teams.The role will involve partnering with EMEA Sales Directors to align Solutions Engineering coverage with a fast-growing book of business, as well as collaborating closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to drive technical wins and clear business value. The Director of Solutions Engineering will also be responsible for hiring, onboarding, and ramping up new Solutions Engineers to meet the growing demand for AI Governance solutions.
What You Will Do
- Lead a team of Solutions Engineers to drive technical sales and customer success across EMEA
- Partner with EMEA Sales Directors to align Solutions Engineering coverage with sales goals
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to drive technical wins and business value
- Hire, onboard, and ramp up new Solutions Engineers to meet growing demand
- Develop and maintain Solutions Engineering enablement programs to ensure team success
- Operate as a player/coach, running management cadence and staying close to technical wins
- Balance Solutions Engineering workload across a growing roster of Account Executives
- Establish repeatable processes for discovery, solution design, and proof validation
- Define metrics and performance standards for technical sales excellence
- Contribute to the Solutions Engineering career framework and enablement initiatives
- Coach and mentor the team to engage effectively with enterprise customers
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in solutions engineering or a related field
- Strong technical background, with experience in managing and leading high-performing teams
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Excel
- Experience in driving technical sales and customer success
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Ability to navigate a rapidly changing landscape and prioritize AI Governance
- Experience in managing remote teams and working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of the software development industry and emerging trends
