About the Role
The Director of Strategic Execution plays a critical leadership role in translating Canopy's strategy into tangible results. This individual will act as a central force in ensuring the company's strategic priorities are clearly defined, rigorously executed, and consistently delivered across the organization. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director will work closely with the SVP, Supply Chain & Transformation, and the Executive Leadership Team to drive enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and establish a high-performance operating rhythm.The Director of Strategic Execution will be responsible for partnering with the ELT to operationalize Canopy's 3-year strategic plan, ensuring clear alignment between strategy, priorities, and execution. This will involve translating enterprise strategy into actionable initiatives, establishing and leading a centralized view of all strategic initiatives, and driving clarity, focus, and accountability across initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic leadership, with a proven track record of driving business growth and improvement. They will be equally comfortable shaping direction and driving accountability to outcomes, with a strong ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Partner with the ELT to operationalize Canopy's 3-year strategic plan
- Translate enterprise strategy into actionable initiatives with defined scopes, milestones, owners, and measurable outcomes
- Establish and lead a centralized view of all strategic initiatives
- Drive clarity, focus, and accountability across initiatives to ensure tangible business impact and value realization
- Lead a portfolio of cross-functional, enterprise-level strategic initiatives from ideation through execution and value capture
- Mobilize and lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across business units and functions
- Identify risks, remove barriers, and proactively course-correct initiatives to maintain momentum
- Ensure consistent use of best-practice program management and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Support end-to-end transformation initiatives, including operating model redesign, cost optimization, supply chain improvements, and organizational effectiveness
- Act as a catalyst for change, helping the organization accelerate decision-making and execution despite competing operational pressures
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum Bachelor's degree; MBA, Masters preferred
- Strong background in strategic leadership, with a proven track record of driving business growth and improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and performance management
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Experience in program management, with a strong understanding of best-practice methodologies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the cannabis industry and market trends

- Experience in the cannabis industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and market trends
- Certification in program management, such as PMP or Agile
- Experience in data analysis and performance management, with proficiency in tools such as Tableau or Power BI
