About the Role
The Director, Technology FP&A role at Reddit is a critical position that requires a unique blend of financial expertise, technical knowledge, and strategic thinking. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for driving financial planning and analysis across Reddit's technology teams, working closely with engineering leaders to inform business decisions and optimize resource allocation.Reddit's technology teams are the backbone of the company, responsible for developing and maintaining the platform that enables millions of users to share and discuss content. As the Director, Technology FP&A, you will play a vital role in ensuring that these teams have the resources they need to deliver high-quality products and services.
What You Will Do
- Partner with engineering leadership to provide financial modeling assistance for key business decisions
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-range plans for the technology teams
- Own and deliver engineering P&Ls, including budget tracking and variance analysis
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and resourcing planning decisions
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
- Collaborate with the finance team to establish and communicate financial targets and goals
- Identify and report risk and opportunity levels determined for the overall financial plan
- Provide strategic input for business decisions by overseeing the development of financial models and analyses
- Continuously improve existing processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the tech industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and financial planning software
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and sales
- Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the tech industry and its trends
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud-based financial planning and analysis tools, such as Anaplan or Adaptive Insights
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or SQL
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Certification in financial planning and analysis, such as the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation
