About the Role
The Dispatcher, Underground Mine role at Agnico Eagle is a critical position that requires a unique blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities. As a key member of the Mine Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of mine equipment and personnel. Reporting to the General Supervisor, Mine, this role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the achievement of the company's objectives.The Mine Department plays a vital role in the overall success of Agnico Eagle's mining operations. As a Dispatcher, you will be working closely with a team of experienced mining professionals to ensure that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, this role offers the opportunity to develop and implement new technologies and processes that will drive efficiency and productivity.
What You Will Do
- Actively dispatch resources and personnel to ensure the efficient operation of mine equipment and meet production targets
- Monitor production levels and adjust dispatching strategies as needed to optimize performance
- Operate equipment and software, including mine dispatching systems and other specialized tools
- Verify practices and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to develop and implement new technologies and processes
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities
- Develop and maintain accurate records and reports to track production and performance metrics
- Provide training and support to other team members as needed
- Participate in safety and environmental audits to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency
What We Are Looking For
- Mining technical degree or relevant experience in mine dispatching
- 2 years of underground mining experience
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Office suites, SIC, FMS, HMI, and Planner
- Mine operation supervision experience is an asset
- Previous mine hauling experience is an asset
- Basic mechanical knowledge is an asset
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Nice to Have
- Experience with mine dispatching software and systems
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and standards
- Certification in a related field, such as mining engineering or safety management
