About the Role
The Division Controller role at Destination Pet is a key position that oversees the day-to-day functions of accounting, policy development, and the monthly close process. As a member of the finance team, you will play a crucial role in driving the financial architecture for the company's emerging two-sided platform, which connects pet parents with service providers. You will be responsible for ensuring GAAP compliance, robust internal controls, and scalable systems to support rapid growth.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably with a CPA and/or Big 4 experience. You will be working closely with the Group Controller and other cross-functional teams, including operations, product, and engineering, to design accounting policies for new features and implement ERP enhancements.

What You Will Do
- Oversee the day-to-day functions of accounting, including month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Develop and implement best-in-class accounting software solutions
- Manage the annual budget and budgeting forecasting process
- Drive the financial architecture for the company's emerging two-sided platform
- Ensure GAAP compliance, robust internal controls, and scalable systems to support rapid growth
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design accounting policies for new features and implement ERP enhancements
- Manage audit relationships and tax strategies
- Research and implement new accounting technologies and processes
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions
- Collaborate with the operations team to develop and implement financial models and forecasts
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
- Technical experience in digital marketplace platforms, preferably with experience in gross vs. net revenue presentation under ASC 606
- Microsoft Office apps expertise, particularly Excel
- Ability to manage teams and be a team player
- Sense of urgency and bias for action
- Excellent financial analysis capabilities to formulate data-driven recommendations for profitability and growth
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to Have
- CPA and/or Big 4 background
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting
