About the Role

The Documentation Engineer at Supabase is a critical role that involves developing and maintaining the company's documentation site, API, and tools. As a member of the Supabase team, you will be responsible for creating a best-in-class experience for users, ranging from independent developers to enterprise engineering teams. Your work will have a direct impact on the user experience and the success of the platform.

The role requires a unique blend of technical skills, including front-end development, CI/CD pipelines, and experience with open-source communities. As a Documentation Engineer, you will work closely with the product teams and other contributors to ensure that the documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easy to use.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain the Supabase documentation site, API, and tools
  • Collaborate with product teams and other contributors to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Build and maintain content pipelines to streamline the documentation process
  • Work with the open-source community through GitHub discussions, issues, and pull requests
  • Develop and implement automated testing and building pipelines for documentation
  • Engage with the community to gather feedback and suggestions for improving the documentation
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field and apply that knowledge to improve the documentation
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement new features and tools
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience with front-end development, including Next.js and content pipelines
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation for content or documentation workflows
  • Experience with documentation, including information architecture and API documentation
  • Familiarity with open-source communities and experience working with GitHub issues and pull requests
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with global teams
  • Experience with automated testing and building pipelines for documentation
  • Knowledge of best practices for documentation and content creation
  • Experience working in a remote environment and managing time independently

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Supabase or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of Postgres and database development
  • Experience with Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search
  • Familiarity with DevOps and cloud computing
  • Experience working with enterprise engineering teams
