About the Role
The Domestic Surveyor role at Octopus Energy is a unique opportunity to contribute to the global renewable energy revolution. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assessing the suitability of homes for low-carbon technologies such as heat pumps and solar PV. Your expertise will help drive the adoption of renewable energy solutions, reducing carbon emissions and promoting a sustainable future. The role entails working closely with customers to understand their energy needs and providing tailored recommendations for energy-efficient solutions. You will be part of a dynamic team that shares your passion for renewable energy and is committed to making a positive impact on the environment. As a Domestic Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work independently, traveling to customer sites to conduct surveys and assessments. You will also collaborate with the wider team to share knowledge, best practices, and feedback to continuously improve the customer experience.What You Will Do
- Conduct site surveys to assess the suitability of homes for low-carbon technologies
- Provide customers with detailed reports and recommendations for energy-efficient solutions
- Work closely with customers to understand their energy needs and preferences
- Collaborate with the wider team to share knowledge and best practices
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of low-carbon technologies and energy-efficient solutions
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging trends in renewable energy
- Utilize digital tools and software to manage customer data and survey results
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of new initiatives
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a surveying or energy assessment role, ideally within an MCS accredited organisation
- Strong understanding of energy-efficient solutions and low-carbon technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers
- Full clean driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Experience with digital tools and software, including data management and customer relationship management systems
- A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainability
Nice to Have
- Experience with solar PV or heat pump installations
- Knowledge of energy efficiency measures and building regulations
- Certification in a relevant field, such as MCS or City & Guilds
- Experience working with customers in a face-to-face environment
- Familiarity with customer relationship management software
