About the Role

Day-to-day responsibilities will include content acquisition, submissions growth, and the peer review process, all of which require strong communication and networking skills. The ability to represent Wiley and its health sciences portfolio at conferences and through outreach activities is also essential. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of recent trends and developments in dermatology, as well as experience in scientific publishing.

What You Will Do

• Drive content acquisition and submissions growth across the health sciences portfolio, with a focus on dermatology journals.
• Strategically develop one or more journals from scientific and publishing perspectives.
• Establish and maintain a strong network of scientists, authors, peer reviewers, and board members.
• Represent Wiley and the health sciences portfolio at conferences and through outreach activities.
• Contribute to editorial evaluation, peer review, and decision-making for manuscripts submitted to several journals.
• Collaborate with the manager and colleagues to establish a team culture of trust, respect, and high performance.
• Leverage desk research skills to stay updated on the latest developments in dermatology and scientific publishing.
• Ensure the adoption of best practices and the highest ethical standards in publishing.
• Work closely with the editorial team to achieve portfolio goals and objectives.

What We Are Looking For

• A PhD degree in Dermatology or a related area, with an excellent research background.
• Strong understanding of recent trends and developments in dermatology and scientific publishing.
• Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative setting.
• Experience in the publishing industry, preferably in a similar role.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Ability to travel for conferences and outreach activities.
• A self-motivated, diplomatic, and flexible approach to problems and challenges.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience as an editor or in a similar role in scientific publishing.
• Knowledge of open research and innovative publishing models.
• Experience with commissioning and the peer-review process.
• Familiarity with science communication and advocacy for innovations in publishing.
• Basic knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.
