About the Role
The EHC Plan Writer position at Liquid Personnel is a unique opportunity to work with Local Authority clients across the UK, producing high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As an experienced writer, you will be responsible for interpreting complex professional advice and translating it into clear, legally compliant plans. What You Will Do
- Produce clear, accurate, and legally compliant EHC Plans that meet the needs of children and young people with SEND
- Translate multi-agency reports, including those from Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, and Social Care, into written content
- Ensure all plans meet the requirements of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
- Liaise with parents, schools, and professionals to gather information and support the planning process
- Support SEND teams with drafting and amending plans as needed
- Utilize Excel to manage data and track progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve the quality of EHC Plans
- Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and policy that affect the production of EHC Plans
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the planning process
What We Are Looking For
- Strong written communication and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex professional advice
- Understanding of SEND legislation and EHC processes, including the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with minimal supervision
- Experience working with children and young people with SEND, or in a related field
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
- Ability to work flexibly, with some core hours required for interaction with families and professionals
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing policies and procedures
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Local Authorities or in a related field
- Knowledge of Excel and other data management tools
- Certification in a related field, such as educational psychology or special education
