About the Role

The EL Sales Support Specialist - Configuration and Quotation role at ABB is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and communication skills. As a key member of the sales support team, you will be responsible for providing critical configuration and quotation support to the sales teams, ensuring that customers receive timely and accurate proposals that meet their needs and drive business growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and operations, to develop and implement pricing strategies that maximize profit and market share while ensuring customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the comprehensive preparation of technical and financial components of bids, estimates, and quotations, ensuring competitive pricing and strong margins while maintaining balance across ABB units.
  • Ensure all quotations are meticulously documented with detailed costs and delivered within established timelines to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Systematically collect, archive, and analyze bid/quote documentation to evaluate tender outcomes and continuously improve bidding strategies and processes.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks associated with bids, quotations, and contractual agreements while ensuring full compliance with obligations.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop and implement pricing strategies that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide training and support to sales teams on configuration and quotation processes and tools.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sales teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in STEM (strong Math or Science focus preferred).
  • At least 2 years of prior quotations, sales support, or bid management/proposal experience.
  • Prior experience working in a Manufacturing, Field Services, or similar field (electrical industry experience highly preferred).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and other software applications.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
