About the Role

The Electrical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in designing building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems. As a key member of the team, you will work on complex, mission-critical projects, primarily in the healthcare sector. Reporting to the main office in Tustin, California, you will collaborate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines.

The role entails developing electrical system designs, performing existing building surveys, and preparing engineering reports. You will also coordinate with clients, participate in technical discussions, and support construction administration activities. What You Will Do

  • Develop electrical system designs in accordance with project scope, client requirements, and industry standards
  • Provide engineering planning, design, and construction administration services for power distribution systems, lighting, and fire alarm systems
  • Perform existing building surveys and document current electrical and fire alarm conditions
  • Prepare, edit, and coordinate electrical specifications and construction documents
  • Author engineering reports, assessment reports, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents
  • Coordinate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines
  • Participate in and lead technical discussions, design coordination meetings, and client presentations
  • Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination
  • Assist Project Managers with technical input, schedule coordination, and project execution

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience
  • Experience with healthcare, science and technology, education, and/or commercial buildings is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of HCAI / OSHPD standards is a plus
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • LEED accreditation or sustainable design experience
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data centers, clean energy, or other building types
  • Familiarity with advanced robotics or infrastructure asset management
  • Certification in energy management or sustainable design
  • Experience with project management software and tools
