Job Description

About the Role

As a freelance AI trainer at Mindrift, you will be responsible for designing computational engineering problems that challenge frontier AI models. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of electrical engineering and artificial intelligence, pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Your day-to-day work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement AI training programs that are both efficient and effective.

The role is remote, and you will be working closely with a team of experts in the field. Your work will have a direct impact on the development of AI models, and you will be responsible for ensuring that the problems you design are relevant, challenging, and solvable by specialized solvers.

What You Will Do

  • Design computational engineering problems that challenge frontier AI models
  • Write Python reference solutions for AI training programs
  • Supply netlist files and circuit definitions as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement AI training programs
  • Work with scriptable electrical engineering packages like ngspice, scikit-rf, and python-control
  • Develop and maintain documentation for AI training programs
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in AI and electrical engineering
  • Contribute to the development of new AI training programs and features

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of research, applied, or teaching experience in electrical engineering
  • Proficiency in Python for writing reference solutions
  • Fluency with at least one scriptable electrical engineering package (ngspice, scikit-rf, python-control, etc.)
  • Ability to design problems that genuinely require a specialized solver
  • Strong written English skills (C1+)
  • Experience working with AI training programs and computational engineering problems
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with pandapower, PyPSA, or other electrical engineering packages
  • Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning concepts
  • Experience with cloud-based AI training platforms
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
