Job Description
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer and Python Expert, you will play a crucial role in designing computational engineering problems to challenge a frontier AI model. Your expertise in electrical engineering and proficiency in Python will be essential in writing reference solutions and supplying netlist files and circuit definitions. This is a part-time, non-permanent project, offering the flexibility to work on a variety of projects and expand your skill set.The role entails collaborating with a team of experts to design and develop computational engineering problems that require specialized solvers. Your ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions will be essential in this role. You will be working independently, but also as part of a team, and your strong written English skills will be crucial in communicating your ideas and solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the field of electrical engineering. What You Will Do
- Design computational engineering problems to challenge a frontier AI model
- Write Python reference solutions for the designed problems
- Supply netlist files and circuit definitions for the problems
- Collaborate with a team of experts to develop and refine the problems
- Test and validate the problems to ensure they meet the required standards
- Develop and maintain documentation for the problems and solutions
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and electrical engineering
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of research, applied, or teaching experience in electrical engineering
- Proficiency in Python for writing reference solutions
- Fluency with at least one scriptable electrical engineering package (e.g. ngspice, scikit-rf, python-control, pandapower, PyPSA)
- Strong written English skills (C1+)
- Ability to design problems that genuinely require a specialized solver
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI and machine learning
- Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud)
