Job Description

About the Role

The Electrification M&A Growth Strategy & Origination Leader plays a pivotal role in driving the inorganic growth agenda for GE Vernova's Electrification segment. This involves shaping and executing the upstream inorganic growth strategy, identifying and pursuing acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships that align with the segment's long-term goals. The role requires a deep understanding of the market, the ability to identify strategic gaps, and the capacity to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

As a leader in this space, you will be responsible for translating the segment's strategy into clear inorganic growth priorities, developing a proactive pipeline of potential targets and partners, and assessing the strategic fit of potential opportunities. This role offers the chance to work closely with cross-functional teams, including Segment & Business Line Strategy, Corporate Business Development, and GE Vernova Ventures, to ensure that the pipeline of inorganic opportunities is intentional, differentiated, and value-driven.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving growth through strategic partnerships and M&A, a strong understanding of the tech and digital landscape, and excellent relationship-building skills. They will be able to work effectively in a remote environment, leveraging digital tools and platforms to collaborate with colleagues and engage with external partners.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and refine the Electrification inorganic growth gameboard, identifying strategic gaps and opportunities across product and technology capabilities, geographic coverage, vertical integration, and adjacent and emerging growth spaces.

  • Define clear investment theses and 'right-to-win' logic for priority focus areas.
  • Build and maintain a proactive pipeline of potential targets and partners, leveraging relationships with founders, owners, and leadership teams.
  • Establish and nurture senior-level relationships to position Electrification as a partner of choice.
  • Assess early indicators of strategic fit, scalability, and cultural alignment for potential targets.
  • Partner with Corporate BD, Finance, and Strategy to validate strategic fit and adjacency logic, identify preliminary synergy and value creation opportunities, and pressure-test strategic assumptions and risks.
  • Support internal decision-making with clear, structured recommendations.
  • Define initial value creation hypotheses to inform diligence and integration planning.
  • Actively support the due diligence process, incorporating lessons learned.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with proficiency in digital collaboration tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess strategic fit and value creation opportunities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of financial principles and metrics.
