## About the Role As an Email Developer at Wikimedia, you will be responsible for driving the production of high-quality email campaigns that engage and inspire donors to support the world's largest free knowledge platform. You will work closely with the Senior Email Campaign Specialists to develop and implement email templates, automated email journeys, and process improvements that optimize revenue and minimize donor fatigue. Your expertise in HTML, CSS, and project coordination will be essential in ensuring seamless execution and rendering across browsers, clients, and devices.

The Email Developer role is part of the Online Fundraising team, which is responsible for developing and executing year-round, multilingual fundraising and engagement campaigns. You will report to the Email Manager, Fundraising Products, and work closely with cross-functional teams, including Senior Email Campaign Specialists, designers, and developers.
## What You Will Do - Develop and maintain high-quality email templates that render identically across browsers, clients, and devices - Implement automated email journeys that optimize donor engagement and conversion - Collaborate with Senior Email Campaign Specialists to develop and execute campaign strategic plans, including timelines, new features, and A/B tests - Provide comprehensive quality assurance to ensure emails are error-free and functioning properly - Assist with prioritization of tracking management and development of projects in our systems - Assist with segmentation of audiences for email campaigns - Coordinate with Associates to clean up code in templates and maintain archives - Support the Growth & Campaigns team with web development of banners on Wikipedia as needed - Develop and maintain documentation and summaries for posterity
## What We Are Looking For - 1+ years of experience coding HTML emails - Solid proficiency with HTML, CSS, and email service providers - Experience with creating dynamic content and personalization for email - Experience with project coordination and working in a highly collaborative environment - Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality assurance - Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle day-to-day responsibilities alongside longer-term projects - Experience with controlled testing and data-driven decision-making - Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising principles and best practices
## Nice to Have - Experience with email marketing automation platforms - Knowledge of Wikipedia's fundraising strategies and donor pipeline optimization - Familiarity with Wikimedia's mission and values - Experience working with cross-functional teams, including designers and developers
