About the Role
The Email + SMS Marketing Strategist will play a pivotal role in shaping Bebonia's marketing narrative, leveraging email and SMS channels to foster deeper connections with customers, drive engagement, and boost conversions. This is not merely a role about crafting messages; it's about understanding the customer journey, identifying pivotal moments to intervene, and tailoring communications that are both personal and premium. The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit team of curly-haired women passionate about their mission, reporting to the Founder/CEO and Marketing Lead.Day-to-day, the role involves strategizing and executing campaigns, managing email calendars, and analyzing performance data to inform future strategies. It's a position that requires creativity, analytical prowess, and a deep understanding of what resonates with Bebonia's audience. The Email + SMS Marketing Strategist will work closely with the marketing team to ensure every touchpoint, from welcome emails to post-purchase communications, reflects the Bebonia brand and its values.

What You Will Do
- Develop and manage Bebonia's email and SMS marketing strategy across campaigns, flows, segmentation, and testing.
- Build and maintain the email calendar, balancing brand storytelling, education, product discovery, launches, promotions, and retention moments.
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer engagement, repeat purchases, conversion rates, and lifetime value.
- Use performance data, customer behavior, and business priorities to inform what and to whom communications are sent.
- Develop thoughtful audience segments based on lifecycle stage, purchase behavior, curl needs, product interest, and engagement.
- Partner with the marketing lead and team to turn product priorities, brand moments, and customer insights into strategic campaign concepts.
- Maintain, optimize, and expand Bebonia's core Klaviyo flows, including welcome series, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase, win-back, VIP, and replenishment-style journeys.
- Audit flow performance regularly and recommend improvements to copy, creative, timing, segmentation, and offers.
- Help strengthen retention strategy by identifying opportunities for cross-sell, upsell, review generation, loyalty, and post-purchase education.
- Plan, write, design, and deploy email and SMS campaigns that match the Bebonia voice and aesthetic.
- Collaborate with the social and marketing team on campaign rollouts, seasonal moments, product pushes, and launches.
- Maintain brand consistency across every email, SMS, and supporting visual touchpoint.
- A/B test subject lines, content angles, offers, send timing, CTAs, design layouts, and segmentation strategies.
- Monitor email and SMS performance and bring data-backed insights to the team.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in email and SMS marketing, preferably in a similar industry or with a brand that values personalization and customer journey mapping.
- Strong proficiency in Klaviyo, including segmentation, automation, and analytics.
- Excellent writing and design skills, with the ability to craft compelling, curl-literate content.
- Experience with A/B testing and data analysis to inform marketing decisions.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Passion for understanding customer behavior and developing targeted marketing strategies.
- Experience working with small, agile teams and collaborating on cross-functional projects.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
