About the Role

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Arizona is seeking highly skilled emergency radiologists to join their expanding non-neuroradiology arm of the Emergency & Hospital Radiology (EHR) Division. As a remote emergency radiologist, you will play a critical role in providing diagnostic imaging services to patients in emergency and acute care settings. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping the medical team make informed decisions about patient care.

The EHR Division is committed to delivering high-quality patient care, and as a member of this team, you will be expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and expertise. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including radiologists, physicians, and technologists, to ensure seamless patient care.

The role of a remote emergency radiologist is multifaceted, requiring a unique blend of technical, communication, and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for interpreting diagnostic images, communicating findings to healthcare teams, and providing expert consultation to physicians and other healthcare professionals.

What You Will Do

  • Interpret diagnostic images, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound images, to help diagnose and treat patients in emergency and acute care settings
  • Provide expert consultation to physicians and other healthcare professionals on diagnostic imaging and patient care
  • Develop and implement protocols for emergency radiology services, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient service delivery
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in emergency radiology, including new technologies and techniques
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care and service delivery
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for residents and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in research studies and projects related to emergency radiology
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery

What We Are Looking For

  • Board certification or eligibility in diagnostic radiology
  • Completion of a fellowship program in body, thoracic, or emergency radiology (preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in emergency and acute inpatient imaging, including abdominal, thoracic, and musculoskeletal imaging
  • Expertise in emergency neuroradiology, particularly stroke imaging
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring, with experience in supervising and mentoring residents and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make informed decisions

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a remote or telemedicine environment
  • Proficiency in multiple imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, and ultrasound
  • Experience with electronic health records and radiology information systems
