About the Role
The Engineering Manager, AI Product Development, will play a pivotal role in driving HostPapa's technological advancements, particularly in integrating AI capabilities into its product offerings. This involves not only overseeing the technical aspects of product development but also fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the architectural direction of AI-enabled products, ensuring that solutions are scalable, reliable, and meet the evolving needs of HostPapa's customers.Given the remote-first nature of the company, the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with globally distributed teams is crucial. The role demands a strong technical foundation, combined with excellent leadership skills, to guide a team of senior software engineers in developing cutting-edge AI-powered products.
What You Will Do
- Lead a team of senior software engineers in developing AI-enabled products, focusing on scalable architectures and high-quality code.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Operations, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Influence product direction by advocating for user-centric decisions and driving the adoption of AI-assisted development workflows.
- Design and review technical plans, ensuring they are actionable and aligned with business objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, and delivery speed.
- Build and support modern full-stack applications, leveraging technologies such as Next.js, TypeScript, React, and cloud services.
- Guide technical decisions across frontend, backend, data, and AI-enabled systems, maintaining high engineering standards.
- Lead code reviews, architectural reviews, and technical design discussions.
- Improve software delivery practices, including CI/CD, testing, observability, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
- Track engineering metrics and delivery indicators to identify risks and support data-driven decisions.
- Support modernization efforts, technical debt reduction, and platform evolution initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on building production systems.
- Previous experience leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, and driving technical delivery.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI capabilities into products and engineering processes.
- Strong experience with modern web application development using TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with CI/CD automation, testing strategies, monitoring, and production operations.
- Proven ability to balance technical leadership with execution and delivery accountability.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of shadcn/ui and Supabase/Postgres.
- Familiarity with AIagents, RAG systems, or AI-powered workflows.
- Experience with modern full-stack application development.
