About the Role

The Engineering Manager position at Sentry is a critical role that involves leading a team of skilled engineers in developing the next generation of observability tools for mobile platforms. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about technical leadership, product development, and team growth. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for owning the technical direction and roadmap for your SDK team, ensuring that the team builds scalable, reliable, and high-quality SDKs.

The successful candidate will be part of a hybrid work environment, with Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays set as in-office anchor days to encourage meaningful collaboration. This role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager, Mobile SDKs, and offers a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver exceptional results.

What You Will Do

Lead, mentor, coach, and sponsor a team of 4–6 engineers, setting a high bar for performance and creating opportunities for career growth.
Own the technical direction and roadmap for your SDK team, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy and goals.
Stay hands-on by reviewing code, contributing to architecture discussions, and unblocking engineers on the hardest problems.
Drive execution by scoping work, allocating resources, setting milestones, removing blockers, and keeping the team moving.
Continuously improve engineering processes and leverage AI tools and workflows to make the team faster and more effective.
Track key metrics, using data to detect issues early, monitor team and SDK health, and keep delivery on track.
Communicate clearly in all directions, representing your team to leadership, aligning with product and engineering partners, and navigating difficult conversations with candor and care.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the best solutions possible and drive business results.
Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within the team.

What We Are Looking For

5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on mobile platforms (iOS and/or Android), ideally in SDK development or developer tooling.
2+ years of engineering management experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
Technical fluency, with the ability to review code, drive architecture decisions, and leverage AI tools in engineering workflows.
Experience owning a significant product area end-to-end, including scoping work, allocating resources, setting milestones, shipping, and iterating over time.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts, tradeoffs, and team progress clearly to a variety of audiences.
Strong product sense, with the ability to balance technical and business considerations to drive decision-making.
Experience with both Apple and Android platforms is a plus.

Nice to Have

Experience with Adjust, Excel, or other analytics tools.
Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and workflows.
Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and infrastructure.
