About the Role
The Engineering Manager, Console role at Twelve Labs is a critical position that connects the company's cutting-edge model capabilities with customer experiences. As the leader of a Korea-based product engineering team, you will be responsible for driving the development of customer-facing products that meet the needs of global B2B clients. Your team will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of Twelve Labs' technology into the products. The role requires a deep understanding of fullstack engineering, as well as the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers to deliver high-quality products.The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, from conception to launch. You will work closely with the product management team to define product requirements, and then lead your team to design, develop, and test the products. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be essential in ensuring that the products meet the company's high standards and are delivered on time.
As a key member of the engineering management team, you will report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with other engineering managers to align the company's technical vision and strategy.
What You Will Do
- Lead a team of fullstack engineers in the development of customer-facing products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and roadmap
- Design and implement scalable and efficient software systems
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards
- Manage and mentor engineers to improve their skills and performance
- Collaborate with the product management team to prioritize and plan product development
- Work closely with the QA team to ensure high-quality products
- Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code meets the company's standards
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry
- Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings and discussions
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering management role leading fullstack product teams
- Strong fullstack engineering background with expertise in languages such as Java, Python, or C++
- Experience building and shipping customer-facing products in B2B or enterprise contexts
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of engineers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of machine learning or artificial intelligence concepts
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins or Docker
- Certification in a relevant field, such as software engineering or product management
