## About the Role The Engineering Manager - Dashboard Foundations role at Plaid is a critical leadership position that will drive the technical strategy and direction of the company's dashboard foundations. As a key member of the product platform team, you will lead a team of 8 engineers, ranging from junior to staff, and develop them through clear goal setting, coaching, and feedback. The dashboard is a critical touchpoint for Plaid's customers, and your team's work will have a direct impact on the company's mission to unlock financial freedom.

The dashboard foundations team is responsible for building the platform that powers Plaid's products, and your team will work on developing scalable, reliable architectures that support real-world products at scale. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify high-leverage opportunities, shape the roadmap, and dive deep into technical design and execution details to ensure consistent delivery of high-impact business outcomes.

As an engineering manager, you will uphold a high bar for technical quality and delivery velocity, leading by example and driving the team to achieve its goals. You will work closely with technical and product leaders across Plaid to define and drive the long-term strategy for this foundational area.

## What You Will Do - Lead a team of 8 engineers, ranging from junior to staff, and develop them through clear goal setting, coaching, and feedback - Define and drive the long-term strategy for the dashboard foundations team - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify high-leverage opportunities, shape the roadmap, and dive deep into technical design and execution details - Uphold a high bar for technical quality and delivery velocity, leading by example - Develop and manage the technical roadmap for the dashboard foundations team - Work closely with technical and product leaders across Plaid to drive the company's mission - Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and engineers - Identify and mitigate technical risks, and develop contingency plans as needed - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement

## What We Are Looking For - 8+ years of industry experience, including time as a staff-level engineer before transitioning into management - 1+ years of engineering management experience - Deep experience designing scalable, reliable architectures that support real-world products at scale - Track record of building and growing high-performing engineering teams - Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to drive technical direction and strategy - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional partners - Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions - Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems

## Nice to Have - Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Google Cloud - Experience with containerization, such as Docker - Experience with orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes - Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus and Grafana
