About the Role

The Engineering Manager for the Data Platform at TrueML will play a crucial role in shaping the company's data infrastructure. What You Will Do

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a group of data engineers to foster their career development and champion a culture of technical excellence
  • Own the design and development of data pipelines and systems to ensure they are prepared for company-wide expansion
  • Act as a relentless advocate for data quality by implementing system controls and SLAs necessary for flawless production processes
  • Collaborate strategically with cross-functional teams to drive business growth
  • Perform high-impact code reviews and provide critical guidance to optimize ETL pipelines and schema performance
  • Contribute directly to development work and troubleshooting alongside the team when required
  • Drive data accessibility by making data reliable and easily accessible for stakeholders across the company
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps for the data platform
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the data platform

What We Are Looking For

  • 2+ years of hands-on management experience and 5+ years of relevant data engineering expertise
  • Deep familiarity with modern technologies like Snowflake, Airflow, BigQuery, or Redshift
  • Mastery of both RDBMS and NoSQL databases
  • Advanced proficiency in Python or Java and expert-level SQL skills
  • Experience designing data warehouses and workflow systems, including owning SLAs for critical production processes
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable updates for business partners
  • Experience with data governance and security practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Spark, Scala, or Protocol Buffers
  • Knowledge of the FinTech industry, including regulatory challenges and compliance requirements
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP
  • Certification in data engineering or a related field
