About the Role

At Webflow, the Engineering Manager, Developer Productivity, plays a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of every engineer within the company. This is achieved by owning the developer experience end-to-end, encompassing the codebase, CI/CD, build systems, internal tooling, developer environments, observability, and the feedback loops that bind these elements together. The position requires a leader who can set a high bar for platform quality, mentor engineers through challenging problems, and closely collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to build systems that significantly impact the business.

The Developer Productivity team is crucial in making every engineer at Webflow faster, more confident, and more effective. The team's focus on iterative and incremental shipping means that the Engineering Manager must be adept at leading a diverse, remote-first, agile team. The ability to steer the team's technical direction through hands-on contributions and rigorous technical due diligence is essential. What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage a diverse, remote-first, agile team supporting iterative and incremental shipping.
  • Steer the team's technical direction through hands-on contributions and conducting rigorous technical due diligence on proposals, tooling evaluations, and architectural decisions.
  • Evolve how the team works by putting AI at the center of execution and ensuring platform primitives are built for seamless consumption by agents as well as human builders.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative metrics (DORA/SPACE) to eliminate bottlenecks and make data-informed decisions.
  • Ensure that the team is staffed for success.
  • Facilitate the growth and development of individual engineers, focusing on both technical and soft skills.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, and Design to align on goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance developer productivity and efficiency across the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to continuously improve team processes and tools.
