About the Role
As an Engineering Manager at Cohere, you will lead the Deployment Engineering team in EMEA, driving the technical implementation of AI solutions for enterprises. Your team will be responsible for the end-to-end deployment of Cohere's North platform in private cloud and on-premises environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Sales, to ensure seamless delivery of AI-powered solutions.The role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking. You will need to mentor your team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and enterprise-grade deployments, while also defining scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources. Your expertise in optimizing performance for OpenSearch, databases, and other K8s services will be crucial in ensuring the success of Cohere's customers.
What You Will Do
- Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers across EMEA
- Drive end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-premises environments
- Take ownership of customer success from technical implementation through delivery
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape how we deliver AI to enterprises
- Mentor your team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and enterprise-grade deployments
- Optimize performance for OpenSearch, databases, and other K8s services
- Define scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources
- Build processes & technology that scales — we're growing fast
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI and cloud infrastructure
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated leadership
- Hands-on experience deploying enterprise software at scale
- Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- High agency — you don't wait for permission to solve problems

- Strong understanding of AI/ML infrastructure and its applications
- Experience with enterprise security and compliance
