About the Role

The Engineering Manager, FDE Infrastructure role at Cohere is a unique opportunity to lead a team of forward-deployed engineers in the Middle East, driving the adoption of AI solutions in the region. As a seasoned engineering manager, you will be responsible for leading from the front, mentoring your team, and driving impact through the deployment of Cohere's North platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and sales, to shape the delivery of AI solutions to enterprises.

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for managing a team of forward-deployed engineers, driving end-to-end deployment of Cohere's North platform, and taking ownership of customer success from technical implementation through delivery. You will also mentor your team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and enterprise-grade deployments, optimize performance for OpenSearch, databases, and other K8s services, and define scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources.

What You Will Do

Lead and mentor a team of forward-deployed engineers in the Middle East
Drive end-to-end deployment of Cohere's North platform in private cloud and on-premises environments
Take ownership of customer success from technical implementation through delivery
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and sales to shape the delivery of AI solutions to enterprises
Mentor your team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and enterprise-grade deployments
Optimize performance for OpenSearch, databases, and other K8s services
Define scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources
Build processes and technology that scale to support Cohere's rapid growth
Define and implement best practices for cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
Work closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth

What We Are Looking For

5+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated leadership experience
Hands-on experience deploying enterprise software at scale
Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines
High agency and a doer mentality, with the ability to solve problems independently
Excellent communication skills in English
Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong understanding of enterprise-grade deployments and cloud infrastructure
Experience with AI/ML infrastructure (desired)
Background in enterprise security and compliance (desired)

Nice to Have

Fluency in additional European languages
Experience with AI/ML infrastructure

Experience with Agile development methodologies
Certification in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP)
