About the Role
The Engineering Manager II role at Datadog is a high-leverage leadership position that focuses on driving developer productivity, performance engineering, and release experience across multiple technical domains. As the leader of the Developer Experience, Performance, and Release teams, you will be responsible for helping hundreds of engineers ship high-quality code faster and with confidence. The role entails setting the vision and roadmap for developer productivity, driving the performance engineering practice, and owning the release experience. You will also partner with product, infrastructure, and internal CI teams to understand how they build software and continuously increase the efficiency of workflows.Datadog operates as a hybrid workplace, ensuring employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them. What You Will Do
- Lead, coach, and grow the careers of engineers across three teams: Developer Experience, Performance, and Release.
- Set the vision and roadmap for developer productivity, driving the performance engineering practice and owning the release experience.
- Partner with product, infrastructure, and internal CI teams to understand how they build software and continuously increase the efficiency of workflows.
- Scale and evolve fault-tolerant, tier-0 CI and CD systems to support growth into new and more complex environments.
- Drive roadmap planning and shipping in collaboration with partner teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and growth.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the technical architecture and trade-offs of the systems you own.
- Ensure the team delivers the highest value for the investment, challenging complexity and raising the technical bar for reliable, high-scale systems.
- Drive the adoption of best practices and standards across the engineering organization.
