About the Role
The Engineering Manager, Infrastructure Platforms role at Gitlab is a critical position that requires exceptional leadership skills, technical credibility, and a deep understanding of the company's products and services. As the leader of the Tenant Services Geo team, you will be responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers, nurturing their growth, and ensuring they have everything they need to succeed. Your primary focus will be on the people you lead, empowering them to deliver high-quality results and drive the company's mission forward.The Tenant Services Geo team is responsible for supporting GitLab Dedicated customer migrations and Geo-related escalations across GitLab.com's Dedicated offering. The team's mandate spans the full Geo operational surface, including pre- and post-cutover data hygiene, migration execution, and non-migration Geo escalations. You will work closely with the core Geo team, Dedicated migrations, Support, and backend/SRE engineers across Infrastructure to ensure seamless execution and high-quality results.

What You Will Do
- Lead the Tenant Services Geo team, guiding them to deliver high-quality results and drive the company's mission forward
- Hire, coach, and develop a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
- Collaborate with the core Geo team, Dedicated migrations, Support, and backend/SRE engineers across Infrastructure to ensure seamless execution
- Oversee the development and implementation of the team's technical strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives
- Drive the team's growth and success, providing guidance, support, and resources as needed
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's products and services, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging experimentation, innovation, and calculated risk-taking
- Ensure high-quality execution of migrations, carrying significant customer data and reputational risk
- Work closely with engineering leadership, the core Geo team, Dedicated migrations, Support, and backend/SRE engineers to drive delivery on product commitments

- 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, with a proven track record of success
- Strong technical credibility, with a deep understanding of infrastructure platforms and cloud computing
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of talented engineers
- Experience with Adjust and Excel, with the ability to analyze complex data and drive insights
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
