Engineering Manager (Institutional - Custody, Prime Onchain Wallet)

The Engineering Manager position at Coinbase is a critical leadership role that will oversee the development of mission-critical systems for institutional clients. What You Will Do

• Lead the engineering teams responsible for building and maintaining the Prime Onchain Wallet platform
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to develop and implement the technical vision for the team
• Break down complex projects into smaller, manageable pieces and lead the iterative design and implementation process
• Manage and prioritize the team's workload, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
• Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, ensuring that the team is aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives
• Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team, encouraging engineers to try new approaches and learn from their mistakes
• Work closely with the product team to develop and prioritize the product roadmap, ensuring that the team is delivering solutions that meet the needs of institutional clients
• Collaborate with the compliance and risk teams to ensure that the Prime Onchain Wallet platform meets all relevant regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including institutional clients, partners, and vendors
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the crypto industry, attending conferences and workshops, and participating in online forums and discussions
• Contribute to the company's thought leadership in the crypto space, publishing articles, speaking at conferences, and participating in industry events

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on leadership and management
• Strong technical background, with expertise in languages such as Java, Python, or C++
• Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of engineers
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of crypto and blockchain technology, with a passion for innovation and experimentation
• Experience with Salesforce and Excel, or similar tools and technologies
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, with a focus on innovation and excellence

• Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence, with a focus on applications in the crypto space
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks, such as AML and KYC
• Experience with DevOps tools and technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of security principles and practices, with a focus on protecting sensitive data and systems
• Experience with data analytics and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
