About the Role

The Engineering Manager at NIRA will play a pivotal role in leading the engineering team across product, platform reliability, data infrastructure, and internal tooling. This is a high-impact role that requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data Science, Credit, and Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and executing the engineering roadmap, raising the bar on engineering practices, and driving technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and scalability.

As a senior leader in the engineering team, the Engineering Manager will be expected to lead and grow a high-performing team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success. What You Will Do

  • Lead the engineering team across product, platform reliability, data infrastructure, and internal tooling
  • Own and execute the engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Raise the bar on engineering practices, including CI/CD, testing, reliability, and observability
  • Lead and grow a high-performing team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support
  • Drive technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and scalability
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful business outcomes
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Credit, and Marketing teams to drive product development and improvement
  • Develop and implement processes to improve engineering standards and delivery
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve engineering practices
  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within the engineering team
  • Participate in the interview process for new engineers, helping to build a diverse and talented team

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a management role
  • Strong track record of improving engineering standards and delivery
  • Experience leading teams in startup or scaling environments
  • Comfortable operating across product, infrastructure, and data
  • Clear communicator with a bias for action
  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to dive deep into complex issues
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, principles, and best practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams
