About the Role
The Engineering Manager - Security Incident Response plays a vital role in keeping Datadog safe from security-related incidents. As part of the Resilience Engineering organization, this team is responsible for ensuring that Datadog is prepared for and efficiently responds to security threats, containing them as quickly as possible. The goal is to contribute to a culture of building resilience in people and systems, leveraging incidents as opportunities to learn and improve.The ideal candidate will have experience in leading teams and driving incident response capabilities. They will be responsible for building tools and automation to streamline efficiency, working with key stakeholders to focus efforts in the right areas, and measuring improvement. As a leadership team member, they will shape organizational strategy and culture.

What You Will Do
- Lead and mentor a team of experienced incident responders, helping them grow and develop their skills
- Serve as a hands-on leader during incidents, making decisions in ambiguous situations and collaborating across teams
- Ensure the team is triaging alerts and signals in Datadog Cloud SIEM consistently and to a high level
- Build tools, systems, and processes to mature security incident response capabilities
- Lead post-incident analysis efforts, ensuring blameless and actionable postmortems
- Partner with the Threat Detection team to tune and calibrate signals
- Collaborate with the product management team, providing feedback on features and championing areas for improvement
- Work with other security teams to develop strategies and plans to prevent future security incidents
- Review decisions and RFCs from senior engineers, helping the team reason about trade-offs
What We Are Looking For
- 2-3 years of experience as a people manager or technical leader with strong mentorship skills
- 3-5 years of experience working in incident response teams, with a focus on security-related incidents and threats
- Technical pragmatism and the ability to help the team reason about trade-offs
- Strong ownership and the ability to work outside your comfort zone
- Experience with career development, performance management, and tracking team velocity
- Familiarity with OKRs and hiring candidates into diverse and inclusive organizations
Nice to Have
- Experience with Google Cloud SIEM and other security tools
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance regulations
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
