About the Role

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Wikidata Platform team, responsible for the structured data backbone of Wikimedia projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the Wikidata Query Service (WDQS) and related platform services
  • Support the delivery of scalable, reliable, and sustainable query infrastructure
  • Oversee planning activities, including estimation, resource allocation, and work break-down
  • Triage incoming issues, bugs, and operational incidents

Requirements

  • Technical leadership and people management skills
  • Experience with Adjust and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fully remote team with occasional travel
