About the Role

The English Language Expert position at YO IT Consulting is a unique opportunity to leverage your linguistic expertise to improve the accuracy and naturalness of AI models. As a remote, hourly contractor, you will be responsible for reviewing AI-generated English-language responses, evaluating their reasoning quality, and providing precise, actionable feedback. This role is pivotal in ensuring that AI models produce high-quality, reliable outputs that can be used across various applications. Your work will directly impact the development of premier AI models, making their outputs more accurate, natural, and clearly explained.

Day-to-day, you will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt, identifying errors in logic, meaning, methodology, or conceptual understanding. You will also fact-check information when needed, write high-quality explanations, and model revisions that demonstrate correct methods. Furthermore, you will rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and reasoning quality, ensuring that the AI models learn from the best examples.

What You Will Do

  • Review AI-generated English-language responses for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt.
  • Evaluate the reasoning quality of AI responses and provide precise, actionable feedback.
  • Assess solutions for errors in logic, meaning, methodology, or conceptual understanding.
  • Fact-check information when necessary to ensure the accuracy of AI outputs.
  • Write high-quality explanations and model revisions that demonstrate correct methods.
  • Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and reasoning quality.
  • Develop detailed prompts in various topics to guide AI learning and ensure comprehensive understanding.
  • Optimize AI performance by evaluating and ranking AI responses for accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
  • Ensure model integrity by testing AI models for potential inaccuracies or biases and validating their reliability across use cases.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Expert command of English (C2/Native-level preferred) with minimum C1 English proficiency required.
  • Multilingual ability (professional proficiency in at least one additional language) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong skills in grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and stylistic editing across registers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in identifying meaning drift, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and subtle errors.
  • Ability to explain corrections clearly in writing.
  • Comfortable applying style guides and enforcing consistency (tone, terminology, punctuation, capitalization) across varied content types.
  • Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
  • Previous experience with AI data training/annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is strongly preferred.

  • Strong hands-on experience using tools like Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and others.

  • Certification in translation, localization, or a related field.
