About the Role
The Enterprise Sales Engineer role at Datadog is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with sales acumen, driving business growth through strategic partnerships and customer engagements. As a key member of the sales team, you will work closely with customers to understand their technical needs, provide tailored solutions, and advocate for Datadog's products. Your day-to-day activities will include delivering product demonstrations, supporting technical evaluations, and developing strategic plans to expand Datadog's presence in the Polish market.Datadog's sales engineering team is known for its collaborative and dynamic approach, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive customer success. As a sales engineer, you will have a direct impact on the company's growth, working with a wide range of customers, from small startups to large enterprises. Your technical expertise and business acumen will be essential in navigating complex sales cycles, identifying new opportunities, and developing strategic relationships with key decision-makers.
What You Will Do
- Partner with the sales team to articulate Datadog's value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers and partners
- Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, communicating Datadog's value and addressing any issues or concerns
- Deliver product and technical briefings to potential clients, showcasing Datadog's capabilities and differentiators
- Technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility
- Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input, wins, and losses
- Proactively engage and communicate with customers and Datadog's business and technical teams regarding product feedback and competitive landscape
- Develop and execute evaluation plans with customers, identifying key pain points and opportunities for growth
- Collaborate with the product team to prioritize features based on customer, competitor, and partner feedback
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other events to promote Datadog's products and services
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a sales engineering or DevOps engineering role
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical and business benefits
- Experience in programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, or .NET
- Passion for educating customers on observability risks and building strategic relationships
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines
- Fluency in written and spoken Polish and English
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales tools
Nice to Have
- Experience working with cloud-based technologies and SaaS solutions
- Knowledge of competitive landscape and market trends in the observability and monitoring space
- Familiarity with Datadog's products and services
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
