About the Role

What You Will Do

  • Partner with the sales team to articulate Datadog's value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, ensuring successful conclusion
  • Technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility
  • Deliver product and technical briefings/presentations to potential clients
  • Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input, both wins and losses
  • Proactively engage and communicate with customers and Datadog business/technical teams regarding product feedback and competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with the product team to provide feedback and insights from customers, helping to prioritize features and drive product development
  • Develop and execute evaluation plans with customers to demonstrate the value of Datadog's products
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge

What We Are Looking For

  • Passion for educating customers on observability risks and the ability to build and execute an evaluation plan
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits and technical advantages of Datadog's offering
  • Experience in programming/scripting with languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, and .NET
  • Minimum of 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role
  • Ability to sit up to 4 hours, with the capability to travel to and from client sites
  • Ability to travel via auto, train, or air up to 45% of the time
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and platforms
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
  • Familiarity with Datadog's products and services
  • Certification in sales engineering or a related field
