About the Role
As an Enterprise Sales Engineer at Plaid, you will be the technical lead for large enterprise accounts, driving revenue growth by providing expert solutions and overcoming technical objections. You will work closely with the Enterprise Sales team to demonstrate the value of Plaid's products and services, and ensure a seamless transition to the post-sale stage. The sales engineering team is critical to Plaid's mission to unlock financial freedom for everyone, and you will be an integral part of this effort.The sales engineering team at Plaid is a dynamic and customer-obsessed group, responsible for driving technical conversations with prospective clients and showcasing the power of Plaid's products. As a sales engineer, you will be expected to have a deep understanding of the Fintech ecosystem and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the technical lead for Enterprise accounts throughout the sales process
- Partner with Account Executives to demonstrate Plaid's products and services to prospects
- Engage deeply with technical stakeholders to drive alignment and buy-in
- Provide demonstrations, address technical questions, and handle RFP responses
- Take a hands-on role in proof-of-concepts to identify and rectify performance shortfalls
- Continuously evaluate and improve selling assets and processes
- Work with engineering and product teams to translate prospect feedback into meaningful product insights
- Collaborate with the sales engineering team to up-level knowledge and capabilities
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to prospective clients
- Build and maintain relationships with key technical stakeholders
What We Are Looking For
- 5-7+ years of customer-facing experience selling to large enterprises
- Familiarity with Identity Verification, Income Verification, or Cash Flow Underwriting
- Fluency in insights products and underlying statistical/ML models
- Strong customer empathy and communication skills
- Background combining business experience and technical acumen
- Consultative mindset with ability to translate technical choices into business value
- Ability to quickly understand new technologies and complex concepts
- Knowledge of mobile and web application architecture specific to API platforms
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

- Experience working in the Fintech industry
