The Enterprise Sales Executive (SLED) role at Datadog is a pivotal position for driving revenue growth in state, local, and education markets. What You Will Do

  • Prospect into State, Local, and Education organizations to identify new business opportunities and maintain existing relationships.
  • Develop and own specific relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and potential contacts.
  • Build a deep understanding of customers' businesses to identify areas where Datadog's solutions can add value.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with SLED enterprises by selling value and ROI.
  • Ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency to support business planning.
  • Expand reach and depth into assigned territory by handling existing customer expectations and identifying new opportunities.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in the face of challenges and have an intuitive sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation.
  • Identify a robust set of value drivers behind all opportunities to maximize sales potential.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 3 years of closing experience in field selling within mid-market or enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding direct sales goals, with experience operating in an environment with an average deal size of $50k+.
  • Ability to demonstrate a methodology for prospecting and building a pipeline independently.
  • Experience working for an innovative tech company, preferably in SaaS, IT infrastructure, or a similar field.
  • Background in selling into state, local, and education organizations, with a history of winning new logos.
  • Strong understanding of the SLED market and the ability to navigate its complexities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Experience with sales tools and technologies, including CRM systems and sales analytics platforms.

  • Experience with MEDDIC and Command of the Message sales methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and technologies.
