About the Role

The Epic Application Analyst position at OU Health is a pivotal role focused on the development, support, and functionality rollout of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This analyst will be integral in optimizing the organization's workflow processes by building applications that meet specific needs. The role involves learning the EHR system's capabilities, applying knowledge of healthcare business workflows, and assisting in the implementation of a system that meets process requirements.

Day-to-day, the analyst will provide technical support to end-users, perform routine maintenance tasks, and participate in testing and validation activities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT professionals, clinicians, and administrators, is key to supporting EHR initiatives and projects. Building strong relationships with the core customer base and facility leadership is also crucial.

What You Will Do

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting issues and resolving system errors.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure the stability and security of the EHR system.
  • Participate in testing and validation activities for system changes, enhancements, and upgrades, following predefined change management processes.
  • Assist in configuring and customizing the EHR system to meet specific needs and workflows of healthcare providers and organizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support EHR initiatives and projects, facilitating communication and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, user procedures, and support issues.
  • Build strong relationships with the core customer base and facility leadership.
  • Assist in the development, support, and functionality rollout of the EHR system.
  • Apply knowledge of healthcare business workflows to assist in the implementation of the EHR system.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of applicable IT or healthcare experience.
  • Epic certification in a specified area is required, with multiple Epic certifications preferred.
  • Analytical, organizational, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare business processes and technology.
  • Proficiency in desktop tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
