About the Role

The Epic Application Analyst role is a critical component of OU Health's IT Care Delivery Applications department. As a key member of the team, you will lead the development, support, and functionality rollout of the Electronic Health Record system. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing workflow processes and building tailored applications to meet the organization's needs.

The EHR system is a vital tool for healthcare professionals, and its effective implementation is crucial for delivering high-quality patient care. As an Epic Application Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and resolve complex technical issues.

What You Will Do

  • Lead efforts to resolve complex technical issues and system errors, collaborating with cross-team members to implement issue resolution plans
  • Develop and coordinate team members to implement issue resolution plans
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and upgrades, to ensure the stability and security of the EHR system
  • Coordinate and lead testing and validation activities for system changes, enhancements, and upgrades
  • Play a key role in strategic planning initiatives related to EHR systems, aligning technology investments with organizational goals and objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the functionality, usability, and interoperability of EHR systems
  • Take on project management responsibilities for EHR implementation projects, system upgrades, and other initiatives
  • Establish and enforce governance processes and procedures for EHR system management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior analysts and team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 2 or more years of applicable IT or healthcare experience
  • Certification in one or more Epic Applications
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within teams
  • Ability to solve complex problems and think critically
  • Strong understanding of healthcare business workflows
  • Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Certification in healthcare information management, such as CPHIMS
