About the Role
The Estimator role at Remote VA is a key position that involves reviewing project plans, performing accurate takeoffs, and preparing comprehensive quotes. As an estimator, you will be working closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals. Your day-to-day tasks will include reviewing architectural and engineering plans, utilizing TogalAI or similar software tools to streamline takeoff processes, and coordinating with vendors for pricing.The estimator will be part of a dynamic team that values attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication. You will be expected to maintain organized records of estimates, vendor communications, and pricing data, and to collaborate with internal teams to ensure that project goals are met.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from construction and engineering to architecture and design. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and to continuously improve your skills and knowledge in digital takeoff and estimating.
What You Will Do
- Review architectural and engineering plans to determine project scope and requirements
- Perform material and quantity takeoffs using industry-standard methods
- Utilize TogalAI or similar software tools to streamline takeoff processes
- Reach out to vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services
- Prepare, format, and submit detailed cost estimates and quotes in a timely manner
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals
- Maintain organized records of estimates, vendor communications, and pricing data
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in digital takeoff and estimating
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge in TogalAI or similar software tools
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Proven experience as an Estimator in construction, engineering, or a related industry
- Hands-on experience with TogalAI or other digital takeoff/estimating software
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Organized and able to maintain accurate records
- Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
