About the Role

The Evening/Overnight Telehealth Psychiatrist role at MindCare Solutions Group, Inc. is a unique opportunity for skilled psychiatrists to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients. As a telehealth psychiatrist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, creating individualized treatment plans, and prescribing psychotropic medications. The telehealth platform allows for flexibility and convenience, enabling patients to receive timely and effective care from the comfort of their own homes. As a telehealth psychiatrist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses, working together to provide integrated and coordinated care.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to diagnose mental health disorders in an acute care setting
  • Create individualized treatment plans that include medication management, psychotherapy, and other interventions
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring that treatment plans are effective and adjusted as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and standards of care
  • Work closely with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and staff to provide integrated and coordinated care
  • Provide immediate psychiatric care in crisis situations, such as suicide attempts or acute psychiatric episodes
  • Participate in chart audits, peer review, meetings, and provider management
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients and their files, auditing files to determine that all services provided are documented
  • Review the status of patients to verify that all treatment and therapeutic programs are completed
  • Endeavor to comply with the requirements of applicable regulations, laws, rules, procedures, policies, standards, and/or contract

What We Are Looking For

  • Active North Carolina (NC) medical license
  • Additional state licenses or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility is preferred
  • 1 year of inpatient experience, with trauma experience required
  • Board Certified or Eligible (within 1 year of residency completion) in Psychiatry
  • Valid and unrestricted DEA
  • Proficiency in using Telemedicine technologies to treat patients remotely
  • Open to PMHNP collaboration (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based care pathways and advanced technology

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a telehealth setting
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and telemedicine platforms
  • Certification in a specialized area of psychiatry, such as addiction medicine or forensic psychiatry
