About the Role

The Executive Business Partner role at OpenAI is a pivotal position that supports the company's leadership in Korea, ensuring the smooth operation of executive priorities and strategic initiatives. The role involves working closely with the General Manager, Korea, and the Global Affairs, APAC executive, to ensure that leaders operate with clarity, focus, and momentum across Korea-specific priorities, APAC regional work, and HQ partnership. This includes managing highly dynamic calendars, complex travel arrangements, internal and external communications, and operating rhythms that keep leaders and teams aligned across different markets and time zones.

What You Will Do

  • Translate executive priorities into coordinated action across teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Build scalable operating rhythms and systems that improve organizational clarity and follow-through, leveraging tools like Excel for data analysis and planning.
  • Use sound judgment and AI-enabled workflows to increase executive leverage in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, always seeking ways to optimize processes and outcomes.
  • Efficiently manage and organize calendars for multiple leaders, ensuring an optimal schedule that accommodates internal and external commitments and minimizes conflicts.
  • Take charge of coordinating internal meetings, including scheduling, forecasting, and resolving scheduling conflicts, to ensure that all meetings are productive and well-prepared.
  • Plan and organize comprehensive travel itineraries for leaders, ensuring smooth and efficient travel experiences that meet all logistical and security requirements.
  • Process and manage expense reports, ensuring timely submission and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the planning and executing team offsites and other events, contributing to team building and strategic planning initiatives that align with OpenAI's mission and goals.
  • Work closely with the broader executive operations team, facilitating effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external partners to achieve shared objectives.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for executives visiting Korea from HQ, helping coordinate local context, schedules, logistics, and meetings to ensure successful visits and outcomes.

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in a cross-functional executive assistant role or similar support function, with a proven track record of success in high-pressure environments.
  • Fluency in both Korean and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Successfully supported multiple leaders in the past, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience working in a tech startup or similar environment, with a strong understanding of the tech industry and its dynamics.
  • Experience working across APAC markets and collaborating with U.S.-based HQ teams, with a high cross-cultural EQ and ability to tailor communication styles for diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong operational rigor, able to run cadences, track priorities, and maintain alignment across time zones, with a focus on precision and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable supporting complex, rapid travel across international regions, with the ability to manage logistics, schedules, and budgets effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Experience with AI-enabled workflows and tools, with a strong interest in leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Experience with project management tools and software, such as Asana, Trello, or similar platforms.
  • Certification in executive assistance, business operations, or a related field, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
