About the Role

The Expert Audio Transcriber position at CommandLink is a unique opportunity for individuals with native fluency in Modern Hebrew to utilize their language skills in a professional setting. What You Will Do

  • Transcribe audio recordings of native Hebrew speakers into written texts with high accuracy.
  • Work with different dialects and registers of the Hebrew language, including colloquial and formal speech.
  • Handle transcripts that may include code-switching between Hebrew and other languages such as English, Russian, or Arabic.
  • Utilize web-based annotation platforms for transcription tasks.
  • Manage variable-speed audio playback to ensure accurate transcription.
  • Collaborate with linguistic leads and QA teams to ensure transcript quality meets project specifications.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency in transcription tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Review and edit transcripts for accuracy and quality as needed.
  • Participate in quality control processes to ensure transcripts meet the required standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Native fluency in Modern Hebrew with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Israel.
  • High accuracy in reading and writing Hebrew script, with or without niqqud, depending on project specifications.
  • At least two years of professional experience in transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately under deadline pressure.
  • Familiarity with web-based annotation platforms and tools for transcription.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace for remote work.
  • Ability to commit to defined volume per week during active project phases.
  • Strong understanding of both colloquial and formal Hebrew registers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with code-switching transcription, particularly involving Hebrew and other languages.
