About the Role

The Field Case Manager position at AmerisourceBergen is a critical component of the company's patient support services. As a key contact for physicians and patients, the successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining trusted relationships with healthcare providers and stakeholders. What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary contact for physicians and patients, building and maintaining trusted relationships in the designated area.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers and stakeholders, educating them on program services and supporting resources.
  • Review patient charts and ensure completion of all required documentation, including special authorizations and prescription renewals.
  • Manage the special authorization process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions and providing expert guidance on reimbursement.
  • Provide ongoing communication and updates to physicians regarding patient status and program changes.
  • Adapt program elements to meet the unique needs of healthcare providers, personalizing support for both in-clinic and remote care.
  • Identify and address areas for quality improvement, collaborating with program associates to implement effective solutions.
  • Attend Continuous Healthcare Education (CHE) events with healthcare professionals, which may occur outside regular business hours.
  • Maintain a valid, non-expired driver's license and possess a car for travel to healthcare facilities.

What We Are Looking For

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or related degree (BSc in Pharmacy or other Science degrees) or equivalent transferable skills.
  • Knowledge of public or private third-party reimbursement processes.
  • Bilingualism is an asset, particularly for the province of Quebec.
  • Previous experience as a Case Manager is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with physicians and their staff as a trusted and well-informed medical counterpart.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent time management skills and a sense of urgency, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a remote setting, with the ability to self-motivate and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software systems.
  • Certification in case management or a related field, such as Certified Case Manager (CCM) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Management (CPHM).
