## About the Role The Field CTO for Retail & Commerce AI is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with business acumen to drive the growth of Nebius's AI cloud platform. As a senior technical leader, you will be responsible for converting market demand into scalable, domain-specific solutions. This role operates at the intersection of customer engagement, platform engineering, and sales strategy, requiring a unique blend of skills. Your day-to-day activities will involve working closely with customers, understanding their needs, and mapping Nebius's capabilities to these requirements. You will also be involved in identifying customer challenges and architecting solution patterns that can solve these challenges for the entire market. Given the dynamic nature of the retail and commerce AI landscape, adaptability, and the ability to evolve Nebius's capabilities to meet new demands will be key. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be part of a global organization that values innovation, engineering excellence, and customer satisfaction. Your insights and technical leadership will influence not only the sales strategy but also the product roadmap, ensuring that Nebius remains a leader in the AI cloud infrastructure market.

## What You Will Do - Serve as the external 'CTO' face of Nebius to Retail & Commerce AI customers, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders, building trust with executive peers.

  • Partner with Sales leadership to close strategic deals by leading architectural workshops and aligning technical roadmaps with customer goals.
  • Translate bespoke customer needs into clear, scalable technical and product requirements for Nebius product, engineering, and infrastructure teams.
  • Act as a force multiplier for the sales organization by creating the technical narrative, reference architectures, and training materials needed to upskill Field SAs and Sellers.
  • Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and GTM teams, ensuring the internal roadmap reflects the reality of the market.
  • Provide architectural guidance to help customers maximize value from Nebius services, while identifying the necessary 'primitives' required to support end-to-end agentic workflows.
  • Identify recurring customer pain points across agentic commerce, retail process optimization, and data pipelines to surface gaps in existing offerings and influence roadmap decisions.
  • Partner with ecosystem vendors to identify integration opportunities and evaluate potential technical M&A targets.
  • Maintain structured internal feedback loops to ensure customer learnings are tracked, communicated, and acted upon by R&D.
## What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or distributed systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in AI, Data Science, ML, MLOps, and Complex Integrations, with exposure to production or large-scale systems.
  • Prior experience in a senior technical leadership role, such as CTO, Technical co-founder in a Retail AI-Native startup, Field CTO, Head of Machine Learning, or Head of Engineering.
  • Dual-Competency: Being equally comfortable driving both technical and business conversations.
  • Experience with GTM strategies and their implementation in driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of the retail and commerce AI landscape, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
## Nice to Have - Experience with large-scale GPU orchestration and inference optimization.
  • Knowledge of applied AI and its applications in retail and commerce.
  • Familiarity with the Nebius AI cloud platform or similar platforms.
  • Certification in cloud computing, AI, or data science.
