About the Role
The Field Service Engineer role at GE Vernova is a critical position that requires a high level of technical expertise and excellent customer service skills. As a key member of the Power Transmission business unit, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and quality during the installation and maintenance of high-voltage systems. You will work closely with a multi-cultural international team to deliver exceptional service and quality products to clients.The role entails a mix of technical and interpersonal skills, as you will be working with customers, understanding their needs, and providing solutions to complex technical problems. You will also be required to work independently, troubleshooting and repairing high-voltage equipment, and collaborating with other engineers to resolve complex issues.
What You Will Do
- Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance service work on Power Transformers and/or AIS circuit breakers & disconnectors and/or GIS switchgear in the high and medium voltage range.
- Install the latest high-voltage technology and keep proven technology running.
- Troubleshoot, disassemble, and assemble components.
- Repairs and spare parts manufacturing at customer sites and/or in the service workshop.
- Professionally and properly handle work equipment, measuring instruments, and devices.
- Execute rework and modifications.
- Consistently adhere to GEV's ethics guidelines.
- Work with initiative, goal-driven orientation, flexibility, and interest in personal and professional development.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally with many opportunities in Europe.
- Utilize MS Office (Word, Excel) for reporting and documentation.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and provide technical support.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing solutions to complex technical problems.
What We Are Looking For
- Completed vocational training or equivalent education as an electrical technician (e.g., electrician, electronics technician, industrial mechatronics technician, or master craftsman/technician) or similar.
- Experience and willingness to work in customer service, ideally working with transformers and/or AIS and GIS switchgear.
- Willingness to work in low-, medium-, and/or high-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Driver's license class B.
- English and Polish language skills (written and spoken), German or French is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong emphasis on health, safety, and quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools.
- Certification in electrical engineering or a related field.
