About the Role

The Field Service Specialist II role at Waters Corporation is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a global team of specialists who are crucial to ensuring the company's legendary service for its customers. As a Field Service Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise on Waters' innovative product suite, including LC, LC/MS, HPLC/UPLC, and SFC, to multiple customer laboratories across various industries, including pharmaceutical and life sciences, chemical materials, clinical, food, environmental, forensics, academia, and government.

The role entails working closely with external and internal customers to establish and maintain effective relationships, ensuring their success and delivering high-quality support. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Waters' product suite, as well as providing system-level training to customers. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, is essential for success in this role.

What You Will Do

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Waters' product suite, including LC, LC/MS, HPLC/UPLC, and SFC
  • Provide system-level training to customers on Waters' products
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external and internal customers
  • Communicate effectively with customers, providing follow-up plans and ensuring customer compliance with regulations
  • Deliver high-quality support to customers, ensuring their success and satisfaction
  • Work closely with the sales team to identify future business development opportunities and service contract sales
  • Maintain sound knowledge of the technology and customers' application demands
  • Run service inventory according to Waters' policies
  • Issue field service reports daily to document work performed
  • Ensure that quality system procedures and health and safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives

What We Are Looking For

  • BS/BA in chemistry, biology, engineering, or a related scientific field
  • 2+ years of experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of scientific instrumentation
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Ability to perform effective system-level troubleshooting
  • Understanding of the scientific application workflow and scientific software systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel overnight, including international travel for training
