About the Role

The Field Services Project Manager at GE Vernova is a critical role that entails the management of nuclear field services projects from conception to delivery. This involves a deep understanding of project management principles, financial and commercial parameters, and technical aspects of nuclear field services. The role is part of a global team that operates with standard functional practices and procedures, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and safely.

Day-to-day, the Field Services Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of site project activities. This includes supporting proposal development, contract negotiation, and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the customer. The ability to work remotely and manage projects globally is essential, as the role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including customers, peers, engineering teams, and global partners.

The Field Services Project Manager reports to a senior manager within GE Vernova and is expected to provide regular updates on project status, risks, and opportunities. The role requires a high level of autonomy, with the ability to make decisions that impact project outcomes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial, including design engineers, customer coordinators, and lean outage risk and protectivity workshop facilitators.

What You Will Do

  • Manage nuclear field services projects from proposal to delivery, ensuring that all projects are executed safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and manage project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with design engineers, customer coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are met.
  • Conduct pre-proposal and negotiation meetings, develop scope and schedule, and ensure that all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Request opening of projects in the ERP system and ensure that all project-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Generate JIS, labor and specialty service requests, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
  • Develop and manage costs, including ongoing estimates to completion, and ensure that all project expenses are tracked and reported accurately.
  • Manage project schedules and payment milestones, providing contingency planning where required to ensure timely execution.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and opportunities, ensuring that all project stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Ensure that all project authorization is secured, both technically and financially, and that all project deliverables meet customer expectations.
  • Provide accurate management reports of all assigned projects, including project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including customers, peers, engineering teams, and global partners.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 5 years of relevant project management experience within the power generation or industrial manufacturing industry.
  • At least 5 years of relevant commercial and negotiation experience, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Proficient in the English language, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.
  • Experience with project management tools, including Excel, and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with nuclear field services projects, including proposal development, contract negotiation, and project execution.
  • Knowledge of lean outage risk and protectivity (LORaP) workshops and the ability to facilitate these workshops.
  • Experience with design engineering, customer coordination, and other stakeholders in the project management process.
  • Certification in project management, such as PMP or Agile, and experience with project management methodologies and frameworks.
