About the Role

As a Finance Advisor at CTU Online, you will play a critical role in helping students achieve their educational goals by guiding them through the financial aid process. Your expertise will enable students to make informed decisions about their financial aid options, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed. This role is an integral part of the CTU Online team, working closely with other departments to provide a seamless student experience. The financial aid process can be daunting for many students, which is why your ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner is essential. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures to ensure compliance and facilitate student progress. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include evaluating student documentation, calculating tuition and financial aid awards, and delivering exceptional service to students.

What You Will Do

  • Provide an overview of the financial aid process to students, explaining the various funding options available and ensuring they understand the implications of each.
  • Assist students with completing paperwork and applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted on time.
  • Evaluate student documentation to determine eligibility for financial aid, making calculations as necessary to ensure accurate awards.
  • Deliver excellent service to students, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Title IV and other relevant regulations.
  • Utilize spreadsheets and web-based resources to manage and analyze student data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive student experience, referring students to additional support services as needed.
  • Continuously review and refine the financial aid process, suggesting improvements to enhance the student experience.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, providing personalized support and guidance throughout their educational journey.

What We Are Looking For

  • Ability to understand and apply internal and government policies, procedures, and guidelines related to financial aid.
  • Capacity to perform calculations, including gross and net amounts based on percentages, with high accuracy.
  • Ability to simplify complex information, communicate options, and answer questions for students in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in sorting, filtering, finding, and adjusting data in spreadsheets and using web-based resources.
  • High school education or equivalent; associate's degree from an institution of higher learning accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent) preferred.
  • Financial aid experience preferred, with a strong understanding of Title IV regulations and other relevant policies.
