About the Role
The Finance Evangelist role at Velixo is a senior individual contributor position that reports into the Marketing team. As a Finance Evangelist, you will be responsible for building a content engine, owning a publishing cadence, and representing Velixo on stage at industry events. This role is not a support function for sales, but rather a market-facing expertise role that aims to create pipeline at scale by establishing authority in mid-market finance.The position is remote-friendly, with regular travel to tradeshows, partner events, and team gatherings. As a Finance Evangelist, you will be the voice of Velixo in mid-market finance, building a real audience of controllers, FP&A leaders, and CFOs across owned channels and partner ecosystems.
The goal of this role is to create a voice that the community comes back to on purpose, with a steady reach into companies that have never been in Velixo's database. To achieve this, you will need to teach finance, not features, producing webinars, tutorials, videos, and deep-dive sessions that make practitioners genuinely better at consolidation, monthly close, grant and program reporting, and board prep.
What You Will Do
- Become the voice of Velixo in mid-market finance, building a real audience of controllers, FP&A leaders, and CFOs
- Build a content engine and own a publishing cadence across owned channels and partner ecosystems
- Represent Velixo on stage at industry events, tradeshows, and partner events
- Produce webinars, tutorials, videos, and deep-dive sessions that teach finance, not features
- Create worked examples and prototypes against real finance problems, such as multi-entity closes and grant reports
- Travel to tradeshows, partner events, and industry conferences to establish Velixo's presence
- Track what is shifting in finance, accounting, Excel workflows, and mid-market ERP, including new AI tooling
- Feed specific, useful insight into positioning and product development
- Work with Marketing to turn customer success stories into compelling content
- Establish a consistent cadence of publishing and turn every major session into clips, posts, and written pieces
What We Are Looking For
- Strong background in accounting, finance, FP&A, or ERP, with credibility earned from sitting in a controller's chair
- Deep, hands-on command of Excel, financial modeling, and reporting
- Experienced with mid-market realities, such as multi-entity consolidation and nonprofit or fund reporting
- Outstanding speaker and writer, at ease in front of large audiences and on camera
- Experience producing content across video, webinar, and written formats
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Acumatica, or Business Central is a strong asset
- Ability to build compelling examples and prototypes against real finance problems
- Strong understanding of the mid-market finance sector and its challenges
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI tooling and its applications in finance and accounting
- Familiarity with content marketing and thought leadership strategies
- Experience with webinar and video production, including scripting and hosting
- Knowledge of SEO principles and how to optimize content for search engines
- Experience with social media marketing and community building
