About the Role
The Financial Analyst role at Harris is a critical position that involves examining financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support decision-making and financial planning. This professional will be responsible for analyzing transactions related to the full order-to-cash cycle, including accounts receivable and collection processes, to ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with IFRS 15. The successful candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, proven problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication and presentation skills.As a key member of the financial team, the Financial Analyst will build relationships with business units and provide excellent customer service. They will be responsible for completing month-end and quarter-end close processes, examining results, preparing journal entries, and detailed balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting for senior management. The role will also involve tracking and examining deferred maintenance, hardware, software, and revenue streams, as well as preparing information requests and responding to questions during quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
The Financial Analyst will work closely with senior management to provide insights and support decision-making. They will be expected to stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards, and to continuously improve their skills and knowledge to remain current and effective in their role.
What You Will Do
- Examine financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement
- Prepare reports and presentations to provide insights and support decision-making
- Build relationships with business units and provide excellent customer service
- Complete month-end and quarter-end close processes, including examining results, preparing journal entries, and detailed balance sheet reconciliations
- Track and examine deferred maintenance, hardware, software, and revenue streams
- Prepare information requests and respond to questions during quarterly reviews and the annual audit
- Support the development of financial models and forecasts
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with senior management to provide insights and support decision-making
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards
What We Are Looking For
- Education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in financial analysis roles, accounting roles, or relevant experience
- Completion of or working toward a professional accounting designation (CPA)
- Excellent proficiency in financial modeling
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
- Experience with financial software and systems
